First Time at Hogwarts - Shoes

I've been wanting to paint a pair of shoes for a really long time now! I did this in about two hours this evening, and mostly it's because I've been on a Harry Potter kick.

I love that series, and I want to go to Harry Potter World so badly. It's going to be a goal for me to strive for in the future to go and visit!

Anyway, I got the shoes themselves for five dollars (and another pair just like them!) and I was amazed they fit me. They are a child's size 3, and I wear a size 7-8 in Women's, all the more reason to try on shoes that may or may not fit me I guess.

The scene itself is taken from the concept of the first movie poster. I adore that poster, it really captures the magic of the series. I wanted to paint a night scene as well, since the shoes are black, and it's much easier to paint things where I won't have to cake layer upon layer of paint onto them.

On an ending note, the pictures don't do the shoes much justice. They are much more captivating in real life. I'm very happy with them. I may try to rephotograph them later, in my usual spot. However, it's late, and I'm not really up to doing that after several hours of painting and with the fact I have to get up early to coach middle school Ultimate Frisbee tomorrow, I just need to head to bed soon!

Also, I plan to sell these if anyone is interested let me know. As I said, they are a kid's size 3, but I wore them all day today (before painting them) without much discomfort. Probably would fit a size 6ish (women's US size) quite well!
